Greenway Kindergarten is closing
Greenway Kindergarten was founded in 1951 and has been present at the Woodford and Chigwell Road sites for most of the intervening years. We are pleased to have served the local communities over these many years and to have been able to provide pre-school learning for many generations of children since we first opened.
The early years educational environment has evolved significantly over those 75 years and combined with recent changes in our own circumstances, we have taken the decision with great regret to close the kindergarten with effect from the end of the summer term this year, in July 2026.
We hope your child has enjoyed and benefited from the pre-school learning and play experience that Greenway has been able to offer, and we would like to thank you for trusting us with the care and education of your child.

The school morning times: 9.10am – 12.40pm
Breakfast club
Breakfast club is open Monday -Friday this term from 8am.
Please let the office know the day before if you wish your child to attend.
Lunch club
Lunch club is open this term.
Makaton 
We have introduced Makaton sign language as part of our weekly curriculum. Each class is taught by our qualified Makaton teacher.
Pumpkin Patch Party
Dear Parents & Carers,
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Pumpkin Patch Party.
It was fantastic to have such a brilliant turn out with almost all of the children attending along with lots of lovely parents/carers and friends.
We hope your children all enjoyed the activities and that you enjoyed the opportunity to have some fun with your children along with their friends and meeting each other’s families.
We are very proud to share that we raised over £300! Thank you to everyone that helped with making this event such a success.

Dear Parents,
Firstly, we would like to start off by thanking everyone who attended our summer party last term. We had a fantastic turnout with our Greenway children, alongside their family and friends. The event has raised over £500 for our preschool.
Our fundraising enables our preschool to purchase items to support our children’s learning and development. It also allows us to purchase gifts for occasions, such as Easter Eggs delivered by the bunny.
In addition to fundraising to support Greenway, one of our aims for the PTA this year, was to create opportunities to come together as a community. We believe this enriches the Greenway experience for the children and their families. Seeing so many of you join in for a good old Hokey Cokey and having fun together was pretty special!
What’s next?
Sadly, several of the PTA members’ children finished their Greenway journey in the summer, so some team members will be left. However, we also have members continuing who we are sure will continue to create more memories.
The PTA is always open to more members. If you would like to get involved, please let Mrs. Aaronson know.
